| , , , , , , , ,

Don’t forget to send in the venue deposit, make the invitations, hire the florist from downtown and have you checked to see if Cousin Janet RSVP’d yet? When it comes to planning a wedding there are so many pieces, details and people involved that you may not have the time or energy to deal with everything, so before you forgo any outside help take some time and read on about the different types of individuals who can help you make it to your big day without increasing your stress and losing your hair in the process.

Day of Coordinator

Unlike a wedding planner, a day of coordinator meets with you about two or three weeks before your wedding day to go over all of the details you’ve planned thus far. After the planning meeting, the coordinator takes over and there’s no more weight on your shoulders. From the rehearsal to ensuring all things are finalized with vendors to making your day perfect, the coordinator will be there every step of the way from then on out. A day of coordinator is great for those who want to have a bit more control and have the time to create, organize, and set up everything months in advance but want to give the responsibility to someone else to execute on the day of.

Wedding Planner

From start to finish, a wedding planner will be with you until you walk out the door of your venue to head for your honeymoon. They will work with you on your budget, guest list, seating chart, invitations, wedding design, your venue, your vendors (Florist, DJ, photographer, baker, etc), create and enforce your timeline and be your peacemaker when it comes to differing opinions and ideas from the ones you love. They are there to manage, track and enforce every detail of your wedding so you don’t have too, so think of them as your personal assistant. A wedding planner is great for those who just don’t have the time, energy, organization, or just don’t know where to begin when it comes to planning a wedding, but they’re also great for those who want to relax and be stress free leading up to the big day.

Wedding Designer

A wedding designer is just that. They will design your wedding to make sure your aesthetic and vision comes thru in your linen choice, floor plan, lighting design, props, and overall color palette. They conceptualize and enact your dream wedding or help you create one if you don’t already have a vision or idea. A wedding designer is great for those who are great organizers but not the best when it comes to visual or artistic rendering.

Whether you want to design your own wedding and just need help setting it all up on the big day, or you want help from start to finish of wedding planning, we always suggest hiring a wedding planner! Whichever tier of help you go with, you’ll have so much stress taken off your shoulder and be able to enjoy the day with your loved ones!
