Just like that, another unforgettable year has completely flown by, which is why we’d like to share with you Lesner Inn’s Best of Weddings to reflect and re-live some of our favorite moments working with all of our wonderful couples, who we wish nothing but love and happiness in their future!  So, let’s begin…

Best Cake

Mayumi and Stephen’s lemon flavored three tiered cake created by Cakes by Crystal (located in Chesapeake) had their guests craving for more and the Lesner team voting this detailed designed cake as our 2019 favorite!

Cameron and Chris’ Fall inspired October wedding had us in absolute awe! Greenbrier Florist did a phenomenal job at tying in the theme through the bridal party bouquets and the centerpieces. Look at how stunning Cameron’s bouquet looks against her bridal gown from Studio I Do!

Best Theme

Not only did Cameron & Chris win our Best Flowers Award but they also created the perfect seasonal theme with some fun personal touches added along the way, such as their signature drink named after their dog, Rookie, and a firetruck! You can read more about their fall wedding and photos on our previous blog titled Fall Wedding Spotlight: Cameron & Chris 10.26.19

Best Squad

This category is one of our favorites! While we love to think about the couples we’ve had the honor to work with, we also love to reminisce on their fun and hilarious bridal parties.  Brittany & Casey’s wedding back in September, claimed the number one spot for this category.  And Mike Dragon captured why perfectly in this picture. From the looks of it, we know that Brittany must always have a smile on her face because of her jokester hubby, Casey!

Best Exit

The Lesner Inn had the pleasure to not only host Jessica & Adam’s wedding, but also to act as their Day of Coordinators (through our ABC Coordination Services).  Lead coordinator, Lindsey, remembers, “I loved working with them because of all the small details they incorporated on their special day like their Ferris wheel cupcake display [created by Incredible Edibles].”  She explained, “It was a way to share how he proposed on a Ferris wheel” (cue the tears).  But when it came to their boat exit, she added “I just love when couples take advantage of our view and water!” I mean, take a look at these photographs. That sky. That view.  It’s no surprise that Jessica and Adam’s sunset boat exit goes home with Best Exit of 2019!

Best Black & White

Will they, won’t they? Just kiss already! Alaina and Pat’s wedding & reception was nothing short of pure perfection… and so is this black & white photograph captured by Courtney Timms Photography!  One word… WOW.

Best Party Crowd

Photo: Cynthia Tenney Photography

Colonial DJ kept everyone on the dance floor for Nicole & Bryce’s wedding back in May! From wearing football helmets to doing the limbo, these guests knew how to PARTY.  This was by far our favorite photo montage on a dance floor. We’re even thankful for the Ava Clara’s bridal gown holding up throughout the night when the bride was thrown in the air on a chair!

Best Guest Book

Photo: Skylar Wyatt Photography

Kelsey and Brian showcased their Irish side by doing an Irish blessing stone guest book! Known as the blessing stones or wishing stones, each guest is invited to write a wish for the couple, such as writing happy marriage or wishing them good fortune, and then toss the stone in the water.  This was our first time seeing knowing the importance of the stones, of course, Lesner Inn had to wish our couple a long and happy marriage!

Best Dock Photo

Photo: Blush Wood Studios

Julia and Jake kissed their way to forever on May 25th after meeting in Longwood back in 2013. After being stationed for two years, Jake finally got down on one knee and proposed.  But because he had the ring box in his back pocket throughout the day, it was bent… so he had to use a pocket knife to pry it open! Although the execution wasn’t smooth, it was perfect for her.  We love hearing romantic stories like theirs <3 Read their story in our previous blog here Couple Spotlight: Julia & Jake

Best Sunset Deck Photo

Photo: Wes Shinn Photography

Brooke’s and Micah looked radiant against the Lesner Inn sunset, which is why their November moment takes not only our breath away but our 2019 Best Sunset Deck Award!

Best Kiss

Photo: David Champagne

There’s just something fun, playful and romantic about a man dipping his woman for a smooch.  And Jibri & Sara must agree because they look like they’ve mastered the age-old tradition of the dip kiss in this photo.

Best Family Moment

Photo: Scott Culberson Photography

One of the hardest things a father does is to trust another man to take care of his little girl… but that doesn’t mean he can’t also be happy and thrilled for his baby girl.  This was such a special moment between Leah and her father. And such an emotional moment as both her and Ryan’s family’s became one. Photographer, Scott Culberson, did such a great job at capturing the familial bond here

Best First Look

Photo: Angie McPherson Photography

One of our favorite moments is the father/daughter reveal and we love that Angie McPherson Photography was able to capture both Deanna and her father’s reaction to this special moment!

Best Candid

Photo: Courtney Timms Photography

We’ll provide the mini cheeseburger sliders and you’ll provide the cheese burglar! Our favorite candid of the year is from Hillary’s summer wedding which has our stomachs gurgling with hunger just looking at this guest!

Best Detail/Decor

Photo: Michael & Laura Photography

A wooden bar and greenery will NEVER go out of style.  If you haven’t checked Paisley & Jade out then we highly suggest giving them a visit because they never disappoint… and Samantha & Terence knew this by adding a lounge area and specialty bars to their wedding day!
