When did you launch PaperDolls and why?

I launched PaperDolls right after I got married in 2011 because I had so much fun designing my own wedding invitations! Many of my friends got married around the same time and I really enjoyed helping them create the perfect design to reflect each couple, thus PaperDolls was born!

What types of services do you provide? What areas do you provide your services to?

I provide graphic design and printing services to include digital, letterpress and foil printing. I service all over, as everything can be done digitally.

What is PaperDolls unique selling point? What makes PaperDolls different from any other stationery supplier?

PaperDolls’ most unique selling point is the interaction and close relationships that I develop with all of my clients. Since we spend a good majority of the wedding planning process together (from save the dates and invitations, to day of goods and thank you cards), my clients feel like friends to me and I enjoy watching them grow through the years! Besides client relationships, PaperDolls has a unique talent that is able to read clients and produce the vision they are looking for quickly, creatively and efficiently.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

I love to follow other stationers around the world to see/compare trends, and Pinterest is also a huge source of inspiration!

Are there any particular trends you’re seeing that are popular with couples?

Greenery is the main trend currently. Other than that, clients are loving texture in their paper goods, and incorporating more letterpress/foil than ever before!

What are some great personalized wedding stationery and design ideas that you have seen?

I’ve seen many couples incorporate watercolor illustrations into their paper goods from their dog on a save the date, to their venue on the invitation!

What advice do you have for couples who want to personalize their stationery and designs?

My advice to couples is to start thinking early on how they would like their stationery to represent their special day, and gather inspiration of what they love to send when they’re ready to start on their paper goods. It gives the stationer a great idea of the overall aesthetic they are wanting to capture.

What is the ideal timeline that brides should keep in mind?

For save the dates, you want to send out 6-9 months before your wedding, so its good to get started on the design 7-10 months out to allow time for printing as well. For invitations, they are sent 6-8 weeks before the big day, and I suggest starting on the design 4-5 months out.

What advice do you have for couples who are still looking where and how to do their wedding stationery and designs?

My biggest piece of advice if you are looking at online retailers for your wedding stationery is to purchase a hard proof! I’ve had so many past clients come to me after ordering online and not being happy with the final product due to cut lines or color not being accurate. I always provide a sample to my clients for this exact reason – its such an important step!
